MUCC would like to congratulate MUCC members David "Dinta" and Kate Officer on their fantastic win in the recent Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial.

Six crews in the up-coming Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial owe their Motorsport origins to the Melbourne University Car Club.

While Current members Kate and Dinta Officer and Steve Ashton /Ro Nixon will form the Lovells Spring team with ex-member, now Sydney based, Simon Crane in a team of Mitubishi Galants, a second three vehicle team will also take part.

Established in 2006, the MUCC Rakers team has had two runs in the 6 Hour regularity Relay at Phillip Island. Now half of the original team will take on the challenge of the outback.

Every first year subject at University seems to carry the numerical code 101 – Mathematics 101, English 101 etc – so as a lifetime member of Melbourne University Car Club, it only seemed fair that for my first Alpine, I should be Car 101.

MUCC members are currently busy in their sheds putting together vehicles for the Red Centre to Gold Coast Rally in September. We still need enthusiasts to come and be part of the service crew. If you are interested in driving around in the bush for 2 weeks, contact Peter Otzen.
