No less than 5 MUCC crews competed in the Rich River Trial run by the Historic Rally Association in and around Echuca on 12th July.
...
Whilst some crews chose to compete as HRA crews, we all know them as MUCC members, so we won't hold it against them.
David and Kate Officer came home 1st outright in their Mitsubishi Galant, whilst Peter Otzen and Paul Franklin came home in 10th place, a good result for a car still being developed for the Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial.
Also competing were Steve Ashton and Ro Nixon, in the sister Galant to Dinta and Kates car, coming home in 11th place.

The debutants for the event were David McKenzie and William Pryor in David's recently purchased ex-1979 Round Australia Trial Volvo (20th place), and Graham Pate and Glen McAliece teaming up in the Datsun 180B, after a 25 year break since their last event together (29th place).
All five teams made it to the finish without any major dramas, so the hopes are high that the cars will be just as reliable in September when they all head off to Alice Springs for 10,000km of rallying.
