Run in the wonderful forests of East Gippsland by the team from Melbourne University Car Club, the East Gippsland Stages will start from the centre of Bairnsdale at 1:00 pm on Saturday 10th May. The event which is part of the VICTORIAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP for 2008 will be run under closed road conditions and cover almost 220 kilometres in total, with 11 Special stages comprising approximately 110 kms of exciting competitive roads.

Split almost evenly between daylight and darkness, the competitive part of the event will be in the forest areas immediately west and then east of Bruthen. All servicing of cars will take place at the Nowa Nowa oval and crews will return to the finish in Bairnsdale before 11.00 pm.

In addition to seeing the cars at the start and at the service point, spectators will get the opportunity to see the cars in action at spectator points in the forest . Spectator guides will be available on line at http://www.mucc.net.au early in May or at the start of the event.

If the opportunity to see the cars at your own personal spectator point is attractive to you, you could offer to help out with controls or road closures. Those wishing to help out by officialling in this lovely area of Victoria should contact Officials Coordinator Graham Pate.

END.
