Mike Seidler has been busy organising the MUCC teams for the 6 hour relay at Philip Island...
Follow up:
Friday 11:38pm
Supp Regs are emailed to last years entrants & team manager.
Saturday 8:14am
I send out an update email noting that entries should be opening "any day now"
Saturday 8:20am
I notice text messages from Paul and Graham telling me that they have received supp regs.
Saturday 8:30am
I receive supp regs forwarded from Graham and Paul.
Saturday 8:35am
I fill out details whilst trying to wrangle an 8 year old who has decided he doesn't want to go to soccer.
Saturday 9:00am
I surprise 8 year old by saying that he doesn't have to go to soccer but he does have to come for a drive with me (Rosemary is at Uni all day). Son & heir becomes surprisingly compliant at this news.
Saturday 9:59am
I arrive at the Bellenger residence. Am surprised not to find a crowd of entrants milling about outside in the street.
Saturday 10:00am
I find David working quietly in his garage. He seemed genuinely surprised to see an entrant "so soon after posting the regs"
Saturday 10:01am
I hand our entries to David. We are therefore entries 2, 3 and 4 (since last year's winner gets #1 automatically).
Saturday 10:05am
After a brief chat I head home. Mission accomplished!
Our teams are as follows:
MUCC Rakers OFs (Old Farts)
PATE Graham (Datsun)
OTZEN Peter (Datsun)
BALLARD Clarke (Lotus)
PEARCE Gary (Alfa)
MUCC Rakers BBs (Baby Boomers)
OFFICER Dinta (Galant)
CRANE Simon (BMW)
McKENZIE David (Evo)
SEIDLER Michael (Civic)
MUCC Rakers XY's (Gen X & Gen Y)
BALLARD Chris (Subaru)
PEARCE Cale (Datsun)
SWAN Matt (Commodore)
LOKE Sidney (Subaru)
Now I know that most of the OFs are really BBs too and technically I am an early Gen X rather than a late BB, and the XY's don't have a GT Falcon among them and it leads to an unequal distribution of AWD cars, but the names do have a nice ring to them and with the overtones of intergenerational rivalry etc. we could have some fun.
