2009 Shepparton Shenanigans report

(Compiled by Paul Franklin)
Rather than put together the usual chronological report about what happened at Shepparton, I thought it would be better to collate the various postings to the MUCC e-group. This report then serves two purposes:

  1. To let the members that didn?t get along to the weekend what they missed out on; and
  2. To encourage the Committee to run the weekend again next year.

Post One
from the totally unbiased President and Clerk of Course for the weekend.

?What a day; what a weekend! The inaugural motorsport extravaganza went off with a bang! Three crews tried the Treasure hunt, 4 the economy test - while several partners opted for the private tour via the wineries for lunch. 15 people attended dinner at Cellar 47 - 14 of them MUCC members. Nine more members came up for Sunday. Like to see that percentage of members turn out for many other clubs!!! 15 runners took on the challenge of the DECA facility, with only one incident interfering with the days enjoyment?.

Repco Rally Australia - 3-6 September

05/07/09 | by matt [mail] | Categories: Articles

A number of club members are planning the trip to NSW to watch the World Rally Championship in NSW.
By the looks of the event map on the event website it looks like the best way to get to the event may be to fly in to Coollongatta airport in Qld and then hire a car.
Keep an eye out here of on the MUCC yahoogroup for more information.
If we get organised, we could hire a small coach for a group and get a bulk booking on accomodation....

MUCCing about at DECA

Good fun was had by all at DECA during the Shepparton Shenanigans.

Clearly Cale's beautifully prepared Datsun has some handling issues... or is it Matt's driving that is the cause of the problem?

Here's Graham showing how it should be done!

A dint in Dinta's plans for the island!

29/06/09 | by matt [mail] | Categories: Event reports

At the inaugural Shepparton Shenanigans at DECA, David "Dinta" Officer's plans of a shakedown for the Philip Island 6 hour ended prematurely when daughter Zoe kissed the armco at the end of the straight with the front of the new(?) tarmac spec Galant.
Initial inspection shows the damage to the grunter 2.6 litre Galant might not be too severe, with hopefully only superficial damage to the front end, but with only 5 weeks 'til the 6 Hour Regularity Relay, it looks like the gravel spec Galant might get a run instead.
Hopefully this little tap of the wall won't dampen Zoe's enthusiasm and we'll see her our on the track again soon (if dad let's her!)
