Shepparton Shennanigans - June 27/28

21/01/09 | by matt [mail] | Categories: Uncategorized

We are proposing a motorsport extravaganza on the last weekend in June.

A Treasure Hunt and Economy Run on the way up to Shepparton on the Saturday - main roads only, no gravel or grotties [please note Brian] - with Sunday at the DECA Centre in Shepparton.

...

Sunday will include motorkhana style tests on a sealed surface [and larger than motorkhana tests] as well as runs on the "Highway Circuit".

DECA

The event will probably be run as a touring road event.

Saturday Night will be a meal and a natter.
We would like to "book out" a Motel in Shepparton, to add to the function [the modern day equivalent of everyone camping at Maldon?].

Please indicate if you would be taking part in such an event.

The Sunday activities can be contested by both the driver and
navigator from Saturdays excursion - please also indicate if that is likely to apply to you.

Participants will be contesting the inaugural "MUCC Big M" trophy - a large Aluminium M mounted on a walnut plank. This will hopefully become an annual contest. With the aging of some of the club membership - this will go part way to replacing the Annual Club Championship.

Note: The M originally [1963 - 2006] adorned an elm tree at the corner of Alexander Avenue and Walsh Street South Yarra, indicating the end of the measured mile from a similarly marked tree adjacent to the skate board park in Alexander Gardens.

Please indicate your intention to compete - and number of beds you would need Saturday night - so we can progress the planning of the extravaganza.
